Waterfront Lifesaving (known internationally as Surf Lifesaving) is a collection fast-paced individual and relay races held on a beach. Each event is specifically designed to test the physical skills that lifesavers would need to perform an emergency rescue on a beach. Ottawa Valley Lifesaving Club athletes compete at a variety of levels, ranging from regional through to international. The club offers organized training programs during the summer months from May through August, with opportunities to specialize in one or a few events.
